Abstract: A recent application release by UBER hopes to facilitate the hailing of a cab by the use of a smartphone app. This is highly controversial and possibly illegal as pre-arranges rides in the NYC area are not allowed. But still, what does the release of this technology say about our culture and that of the NYC area, It’s a tricky subject when you consider prioritization and the overall accessibility of the application and its design. Just as Anne Balsamo mentioned, “Computation is slowly moving off our screens and into our lives”. I wonder, will we then need to be subjected to the rules of the network on a social level to comply with the mistakes of the application and it’s connectivity?
