Abstract: New technologies are being developed that allow the consumer, the user to the product to be the designer. With new technological advances, such as 3D printing, companies can allow the people who will actually purchase and use the products to have some say in the production. Joseph Grima, editor of the Italian design and architecture magazine has created a program or exhibitions and workshops called “Adhocracy”  to help develop these technologies further in an attempt to really reach out and satisfy the consumer. He was recorded saying, ““We want to explore what happens when the design process becomes open-ended and unfinished, rather than closed, and to look at the way it is transforming design culture.” The program will be showcased at art and design festivals, showing a move toward productivity and usefulness in design. All over the world, art and design festivals are switching to more useful, socially conscious ways to use design and art.
