The rise of human-computer cooperation

Abstract: In a recent TED talk, Shyam Sankar describes the relationship between man and machine. It’s interesting to think that less than 10 years ago we have envisioned mankind under the total domination of computers, yet in recent years the most ground breaking change with the human relationship to these technologies has been the iPad. Shyam Sankar is envisioning a world in which humans and computers will “team up” to work on complex products, where the computer would act more like a highly functional assistant, i.e. being responsible for the tracking and organization of complex data – All while allowing the human to think creatively and find a solution that transcends the predetermination of a networked system.
